Birthday on a Budget: A Tea Party

Here is the third week in my series on birthday parties - how to have super fun and festive parties on a budget. All of the parties I will be sharing in this series are birthday parties that I have planned for my children and the entire party cost is under $100 {including food}> I love planning parties, but also need to keep my spending to a minimum. With more children and more parties to plan, I now spend even less. The third party I am sharing was my daughter, Evelyn's 4th birthday party - A Tea Party (1.5 years ago!). This party took place just 2 weeks after our youngest was born, so it was a smaller, more intimate party :) I set up our dining room up as our tea party space.  The lanterns were recycled from another party :) I got the flowers at Michael's on sale, and the pots from Target's dollar spot. All of the parties I will be sharing in this series are birthday parties that I have planned for my children and the entire party cost is under $100 {including food}> I love planning parties, but also need to keep my spending to a minimum. With more children and more parties to plan, I now spend even less. The second party I am sharing was my son, Beckett's 2nd birthday party - Farm/Tractor Birthday Party (2 years ago!). This party was supposed to be outside - but it rained so we had to improvise and do the party in our basement (sorry about the dark pictures!). We went with a red, white & blue theme which made it easy to pick up supplies after July 4th (birthday in August)! 2013-2014 Curriculum Choices

It is that time of year! Well, actually we started our new school year back in June - although it has been pretty relaxed so far (we are moving in 3 days!).  I wanted to share our curriculum choices this year with you... Evelyn's Curriculum (1st Grade) Penmanship:  Horizons Penmanship 1 (Manuscript) She is already zooming through this book! Reading:  Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons We are half-way through this already! Once she has finished, we will begin working on some early reading phonics books I picked up for her. Learning Through Literature This book provides reading & math lessons for classic literature.  Math:  Horizons Math 1 (Book 1) We will be through this book within a few months. Science: Answer's In Genesis "God's Design for Life" (The World of Plants) We have the whole "God's Design For Life" unit.  Beckett's Curriculum (Preschool) Phonics: Hooked on Pho
