Birthday on a Budget: A Tea Party



Here is the third week in my series on birthday parties - how to have super fun and festive parties on a budget. All of the parties I will be sharing in this series are birthday parties that I have planned for my children and the entire party cost is under $100 {including food}>

I love planning parties, but also need to keep my spending to a minimum. With more children and more parties to plan, I now spend even less. The third party I am sharing was my daughter, Evelyn's 4th birthday party - A Tea Party (1.5 years ago!). This party took place just 2 weeks after our youngest was born, so it was a smaller, more intimate party :)


I set up our dining room up as our tea party space. 


The lanterns were recycled from another party :)


I got the flowers at Michael's on sale, and the pots from Target's dollar spot. The lace overlay is my mom's as well as the tea set. We served tea and pink lemonade.


I found some honey tea stir sticks at Home Goods!


I got the plates at Party City and the dessert plates from Target. The necklaces, gloves and wands all came from Target's dollar spot. 


We served pinwheels sandwiches - some with lunch meat and some with peanut butter & jelly. We also served trail mix, fruit salad and cupcakes! 


We also had a hat decorating station. I got the hats at Target for $1.00 each (Easter!) and I got all of the flowers and embellishments at Michael's. 


I already had a tea pot candy mold (I originally ordered it from ebay) - so I made some candies for the cupcakes. I also made chocolate covered oreos. 




My mom made the cake (of course!). It was her first time using fondant on the whole cake and she did an awesome job! Evelyn loved it :)

    The birthday party is looking very amazing. It is a very new concept of introducing birthday party as a tea party. Birthday girl is looking beautiful. All of them are dressed so well like princess. The decoration is also amazing. The color combination is looking awesome. Everything is in a very good color. The theme is very different and innovative. The cupcakes in shape of a tea mug and the cake also in the same shape is looking wonderful. Recently i also had my son's birthday, i kept the theme of superheroes which also looked very amazing. I ordered the balloons matching with this theme and they were looking amazing as well. The Day I Failed At Motherhood

It was a Monday morning. The weekend had been filled with busyness, it felt as though we had not even had one moment to catch our breath and the week was upon us once again. I awoke to a house that was disheveled by the hustle and bustle of running in and out from one engagement to the next. Okay , I thought, I am going to whip this house into shape !
