The Beatitudes of Homeschooling {Free Printable}

I am sharing over at Holy Spirit Led Homeschooling today! A few months ago, as I was studying the beatitudes, God laid it on my heart to write  The Beatitudes of Motherhood . I was amazed at the response I received. Honestly, it was completely inspired by God and I cannot take much credit, but I was honored and blessed by how it reached moms. As I was thinking about my post for Holy Spirit Led Homeschooling this month, I heard that familiar voice whisper in my ear... The Beatitudes of Homeschooling . So I began to pray about it and started writing. This is what I came up with and I hope that it blesses you today! I have included a FREE printable.  Click here to read  The Beatitudes of Homeschooling .

Surviving a Marriage "Funk"

God has laid on my heart recently to write a post about marriage { again }. Let me first state that my marriage is not perfect. In fact, my husband and I just recently walked through a rough moment in our marriage. For over eight years now, our marriage has been wonderful - sure we had our ups and downs, but nothing too serious. This rough patch was a new experience. The enemy was attacking our marriage. The problem was...there was no "BIG" problem - we just could not seem to get through a day (or even a conversation!) without it turning into an argument or one of us going on the defensive. Life was stressful - searching for jobs, low finances, children's behavior issues - we were facing a lot. I call this a marriage "funk".  After a week of funk, I knew that something needed to change. I recognized that we were not battling against flesh and blood, but against a supernatural force that wanted to destroy our marriage and family in any way possible. I ...

Stop Wasting Precious Time

We talk often about how fast the time flies by. When raising children, time seems to move at lightning speed. As I pondered my oldest daughter today, for some reason I had a "flash forward" moment in which I was envisioning her all grown up and getting married. My stomach turned and my heart squeezed at the thought of it, and I am thankful that it was just a passing thought and not my reality yet. But it did get me thinking... My daughter wearing my Wedding veil recently :)  My daughter is five and a half years old. If she were to marry at twenty (like I did) or even just move out and start her own life at that point, then we are one quarter of the way there. How much time have I wasted? If I have twenty years (maybe a little more, maybe a little less) to raise this girl of mine - I am actually a good chunk of the way into it already. How much time have I wasted?   How many play dolls with me moments have I been too busy for? How many mommy, watch m...

REVIEW ~ A Child's Geography: Explore The Classical World {GIVEAWAYS!}

I was recently given the opportunity to be a part of the launch team for A Child's Geography: Explore The Classical World by Terri Johnson (read my full disclosure policy here ). This is the third volume of the A Child's Geography Series through Knowledge Quest . I was super excited about this curriculum, as I have not started any type of geography with my kiddos yet. You can purchase  A Child's Geography: Explore The Classical World  through  Knowledge Quest  for only $34.95! I downloaded the curriculum onto my Kindle and began browsing through the pages filled with maps, photos and activities. At first glance, it is beautiful and well put together. My husband and I were both immensely impressed with the product. My husband is the true critic - he loves history, geography and maps. He also formerly taught High School bible at a Christian School which involved teaching about the Classical world. He was immediately excited about using this curriculum with ...

Welcome To Our Home

As many of you know, we moved to a new home about five weeks ago. We love our new home and have been enjoying getting settled in and getting to know our new church, community and neighborhood. Thank you for your understanding, as I have been blogging quite a bit less lately - and that is probably going to continue...God's been dealing with me about my priorities :) I have NOT figured out how to juggle everything yet! Today, I want to invite you into our home! I hope that you will come on in and enjoy a visit with us! Can you smell the "Home Sweet Home" Yankee candle burning? Can you hear the Gungor worship music filling the space? Here, take a chocolate chip cookie.  This is my world - the haven I have created in the beautiful house that our church provides for us (also called a parsonage).  Welcome! First you will walk right into our living room... (The furniture is new to us - a craigslist find for $300, and  miraculously  i...
