I am sharing over at Holy Spirit Led Homeschooling today! A few months ago, as I was studying the beatitudes, God laid it on my heart to write  The Beatitudes of Motherhood . I was amazed at the response I received. Honestly, it was completely inspired by God and I cannot take much credit, but I was honored and blessed by how it reached moms. As I was thinking about my post for Holy Spirit Led Homeschooling this month, I heard that familiar voice whisper in my ear... The Beatitudes of Homeschooling . God has laid on my heart recently to write a post about marriage { again }. Let me first state that my marriage is not perfect. In fact, my husband and I just recently walked through a rough moment in our marriage. For over eight years now, our marriage has been wonderful - sure we had our ups and downs, but nothing too serious. This rough patch was a new experience. The enemy was attacking our marriage. The problem was...there was no "BIG" problem - we just could not seem to get through a day (or even a conversation!) without it turning into an argument or one of us going on the defensive. Life was stressful - searching for jobs, low finances, children's behavior issues - we were facing a lot. I call this a marriage "funk".  After a week of funk, I knew that something needed to change. I recognized that we were not battling against flesh and blood, but against a supernatural force that wanted to destroy our marriage and family in any way possible. I ...

We talk often about how fast the time flies by. When raising children, time seems to move at lightning speed. As I pondered my oldest daughter today, for some reason I had a "flash forward" moment in which I was envisioning her all grown up and getting married. My stomach turned and my heart squeezed at the thought of it, and I am thankful that it was just a passing thought and not my reality yet. But it did get me thinking... My daughter wearing my Wedding veil recently :)  My daughter is five and a half years old. If she were to marry at twenty (like I did) or even just move out and start her own life at that point, then we are one quarter of the way there. How much time have I wasted? If I have twenty years (maybe a little more, maybe a little less) to raise this girl of mine - I am actually a good chunk of the way into it already. As many of you know, we moved to a new home about five weeks ago. We love our new home and have been enjoying getting settled in and getting to know our new church, community and neighborhood. Thank you for your understanding, as I have been blogging quite a bit less lately - and that is probably going to continue...God's been dealing with me about my priorities :) I have NOT figured out how to juggle everything yet! Today, I am sharing at Holy Spirit Led Homeschooling about learning to be content in your home - whether it is your dream home or not. Plus some tips on how to spruce up your old abode! Many of you know that we recently moved to a new home {which I am loving and will be sharing pictures soon} - however, this post was written while we were still living in our previous home... She huffs and puffs as she scrubs the bathtub – it just never looks clean enough. She arranges the furniture exactly so, to cover up that awful stain on the carpet. She sighs as the utensil drawer falls off the hinges again, spilling silverware across the floor. She internally cringes when her guests bring up the chipping countertop, or sticking doorknobs, or missing siding… So you don’t live in your dream home? I don’t either. I have been thinking a lot about busyness, lately. We are entering into a time of year when life seems to get busy for most families. Whether you are a homeschool, public school or private school family - school tends to busy our lives. Filling our days with endless lessons, clean-ups, chores, pick-ups and drop-offs, extra curriculars...you get the idea. Throw in church and some meetings and well, there isn't much time left for anything else. I have a constant running to-do list {sometimes written, sometimes in my head} of all of the things I need to accomplish daily, weekly, monthly - and I still usually forget something! Of course, there is no end in sight, with the earlier every year holiday ads and promotions reminding us that dinner parties and family get-togethers and gift shopping is all right around the corner... help!
